USA vs. Finland 2018 live stream: Time, TV channel, and the best ways to view females’s Olympic hockey online

Hilary Knight and the Americans begin their stay in Pyeongchang against Finland.

Team USA will open its quest to win women’s hockey Olympic gold for the first time since 1998 against Finland on Sunday morning. The tournament will likely come down to how the Americans fare in their rivalry against Canada, but we can point back to 2006 to note that the team can’t look past any of its opponents.

The game between the U.S. and Finland begins at 2:40 a.m. ET. If you happen to be up in the middle of the night and hankering for some hockey, it will be streamed live by NBC Olympics and broadcast live by NBCSN.

The Americans will be led yet again by star players such as Hilary Knight, Meghan Duggan, Brianna Decker, and Kendall Coyne. They’re heavily favored to at least reach the gold medal game, having won three straight World Championships since falling short in Sochi four years ago.

You can check out a more detailed preview of Team USA from The Ice Garden, SB Nation’s women’s hockey blog.

Finland is typically one of the other teams in the mix beyond USA and Canada. Finland won Olympic bronze medals in 1998 and 2010 and earned another bronze at the 2017 World Championships. Here’s a full preview of the Finnish team from The Ice Garden.
